Waikeria Corrections & Treatment Facility
This is a landmark project delivering both a high security correctional facility and a forensic mental health facility for the New Zealand Government. The project has an approximate total value of NZ$750 million, with early works already commenced on site.

The project comprises the design of a new purpose built correctional centre delivering accommodation for 500 prisoners with an integrated secure mental health treatment precinct, providing world class care for an additional 100 prisoners. The new facility is located on the existing Waikeria Prison site in the Waikato region of New Zealand’s North Island. With this project, MODE are providing a coordinated design consultancy of Architects, Landscape Architects, Interior Designers and Graphic Designers. MODE have also engaged with Chow Hill Architects as local consultants in the Waikato region. MODE are keenly working with the CIP team and the New Zealand Government to deliver a world class facility that delivers on the Department of Corrections key priorities and long-term goals.
