Mayne Yard Maintenance Facility

The scope of this project included the provisions of a new state of the art maintenance facility, on the Mayne Yard site in Bowen Hills.

The project required detailed technical input with MODE providing bulk form modelling and detailed building design; initially on the new site located to the north of the existing rail complex, followed by a detailed investigation and proving for the viability of extending the existing tilt train accommodation.

The resulting proposals enabled Queensland Rail to properly evaluate and prepare for the arrival of the new fleet, and feeds into the overall site master planning which will determine the next generation of development of this prime infrastructure asset.
