Cooinda Lodge Wayfinding

Cooinda Lodge is a tourist resort located beside Yellow Water Billabong in the heart of Kakadu National Park.

MODE developed a wayfinding strategy to unify the various parts of the site and improve the visitor experience.

Key elements of the Kakadu Tourism brand standards were used and extended to suit the built environment. An existing pattern device was adapted for use as perforated metals and stencil prints which further unified the site to itself and the larger marketing strategy for the area.

MODE also worked in consultation with fabricators to develop specifications that were economical to produce and able to withstand the intensity of local climate including inundation during the wet season.
