Common User Terminal

The Common User Terminal (CUT) is a unique arrangement for a domestic airport for the scale of Brisbane Airport. The CUT accommodates both check-in and arrival facilities in the one terminal zone.
Client: Brisbane Airport Corporation
Location: Brisbane Airport, QLD
MODE worked closely with BAC’s strategic planning team to develop a space plan that introduced automated common user facilities to improve capacity and passenger flow. SITA common user kiosks were integrated with automatic bag drops to improve processing time.
Manual check-in counters were upgraded and relocated to enable DDA compliance.
The Baggage reclaim Hall was modified to increase presentation length. Over-sized bag drops and relevant scanning equipment were introduced to align with CASA regulations.
A number of other commercial upgrades were also implemented including SEQ Tourism, Jetstar and Tiger service counters, meeting rooms, distribution and store room facilities.
