Aveley Secondary College Master Plan

Aveley Secondary College is one of eight new schools undertaken by the EduWest Consortium.

MODE’s approach was borne of a master planning process evolving around the core principles of the brief and involving an ‘outside in’ approach taking account of the existing and future context and use of the site, key catchment areas, road networks and hierarchies, public transport networks, environmental issues, site topography and climatic considerations. The result is a master plan that has been generated from a structured and informed process. Students and teachers benefit from legible, safe, secure and uninhibited movement when arriving at school and passing through to the learning communities. The identity of the school is defined through connectivity with the surrounding landscape and a design language that reflects the diversity of the local environment and the history of settlement of the area.
