The Australian Federal Police building in Darwin achieved a Green Star Office Design V3 5 Star Rating, which represents “Australian Excellence” in environmentally sustainable design.

The AFP Building is a two-storey 3600sqm building comprising a steel structural system, post-tension first floor concrete slab and a combination of masonry and light steel frame wall construction. The majority of the first floor of the building is clad in dark prefinished panels while the ground floor is rendered light coloured block work.
At completion, it was only the second building in the Northern Territory to be awarded a 5 star rating and achieving this in the tropical climate, overcoming transportation and supply issues, was a significant challenge for the MODE team.
