The hospital redevelopment is a four staged refurbishment and upgrade to provide more efficient services.

It includes an additional 80 bed ward, new operating theatres, new hospital entry, new GE procedure rooms, new dermatology procedure rooms, patient recovery and discharge facilities, consulting suites, nursery and the relocation of the administration building with extension to the undercover car park.

The relocation of North West Private Hospital’s existing oncology unit has provided a spacious new 6 person treatment facility. Three decommissioned wards were converted to provide a new open plan layout, which provides comfort and privacy for patients, and easy access for staff. The existing oncology unit has been converted into two new luxury wards.

MODE worked closely with the hospital staff at sketch design stage to maximise the amenity and efficiency of the new layout. MODE then liaised with the contractors in the design and construct stage, to ensure the build was completed in an efficient and cost effective manner.

The refurbishment of North West Private Hospital’s labour delivery suite included the demolition of two existing wards to create a new state of the art labour delivery room. This new facility ensures the hospital’s demand for maternity services is met.

A refurbishment of the staff station, to allow for more efficient administrative work, was also included in the upgrade.

MODE managed the upgrade from sketch design to contract administration, to allow the project to be completed before its deadline and under budget.

The new luxury maternity ward at North West Private Hospital was opened in February 2011, and is in high demand from patients.

The ward consists of 30 comfortably appointed wards with private ensuites, as well as a spacious staff station and ancillary facilities.

As space on the site is limited, extensive enabling works including the relocation of an existing administrative building were incorporated into the project.
