The expanded Cleveland Youth Detention Centre takes the facility from an existing 48 beds to 104 beds. Work includes all new services and infrastructure including new education, administration, utilities, operations, training, kitchen, laundry and stores facilities.

This centre is designed to meet a new operational philosophy and the latest rehabilitation techniques utilised by the Department of Communities.

The youth detention centre is designed to aid the government’s aim to break the cycle of repeat offending through integration of community participation in the rehabilitation process. MODE (formally Codd Stenders) were the lead consultant in joint venture with Guymer Bailey.
